Meet Dr. Savitha Susarla
Dr. Savitha Susarla is a board-certified family medicine physician who believes in caring for the whole person by thoughtfully integrating mind, body, and spirit. She provides compassionate, patient-centered primary care for individuals and families throughout the Fox Valley.
Additionally, Dr. Susarla is known for taking the time to listen, educate, and partner with her patients. Her approach focuses on long-term wellness, prevention, and personalized care at every stage of life.
Education, Training, and Medical Expertise
Dr. Susarla completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, where she graduated with academic distinction in psychology and biology. This strong foundation supports her holistic understanding of both physical and emotional health.
She earned her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed her family medicine residency at the Cook County / Loyola Family Medicine Program. As a result, she brings a broad, evidence-based perspective to both primary care and women’s health.

A Physician Who Practices What She Teaches
Dr. Susarla truly practices what she preaches. She has practiced yoga for more than 30 years and follows a vegetarian lifestyle. In addition, she is a triathlete, an avid traveler, and a sitar musician.
These personal interests reflect her commitment to balance, movement, and lifelong wellness. As a result, patients often appreciate her practical and relatable guidance when discussing healthy lifestyle choices.
Commitment to Medical Education & Patient-Centered Care
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Susarla serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. In this role, she is actively involved in the clinical training of medical students and physician assistant students in family medicine.
