Dr. Viswanatham “Vis” Susarla, MD, is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine with more than 50 years of experience providing compassionate, patient-centered care. He graduated from Andhra Medical College and has been practicing medicine since 1974.

Dr. Susarla specializes in primary care, family medicine, and geriatric care, with a strong emphasis on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and healthy aging. He is dedicated to helping patients maintain independence, improve quality of life, and stay healthy in their own homes for as long as possible.

Known for his thoughtful and personalized approach, Dr. Susarla takes time to understand each patient’s full medical history, lifestyle, and long-term health goals. His clinical interests include preventive care, medication safety, and the management of complex medical conditions common in older adults.

Dr. Susarla is actively involved in professional medical organizations, including the Kane County Medical Society, Advocate Physician Partners, the American Geriatrics Society, and the American College of Physicians, reflecting his commitment to ongoing education and high-quality care.

Outside of the office, Dr. Susarla enjoys spending time with his wife, Vidya, and their three children. He has a strong interest in nature and science programming offered on National Geographic, Discovery and The History Channel and enjoys Indian classical music.
